New Albany Health & Wellness Center
The New Albany Health & Wellness Center can be divided into three areas of service: Community Programs, a School Program, and a Resource Center.
Community Programs in health and wellness are offered to assist community members in becoming lifelong learners. Programs are planned to meet the changing needs of the community, and the center prides itself on offering a wide selection of topics. Programs are held in the multi-purpose room, which includes a demonstration kitchen. To obtain a current program brochure, call the New Albany Health & Wellness Center at 855-4551.- The School Program is provided with the assistance of the center’s Program Manager, who is an active member of the school’s Wellness Team. She works with the K-12 wellness curriculum and with various wellness projects throughout the school year. She also helps teachers plan programs and works with students directly, both in the classroom and in the New Albany Health & Wellness Center.
- The Resource Center offers books, videotapes, files, and computer programs, including Internet access, to assist community members in obtaining health and wellness information. To learn more about a disease or illness, treatments, medications, how to reduce stress, or something seen on TV, visit the Resource Center. Access to this information encourages community members, including students, to make choices that support personal wellness. Visitors can research topics on their own or ask for assistance. Materials may be checked out. All requests are confidential.
